On behalf of the Disability Prevention and Management Collaborative we invite you to join us in Vancouver, British Columbia in the Spring of 2006 for Business Health - Employee Health: Creation, Retention and Renewal; Connecting Research to Training and Practice. A consensus building conference aimed at linking the latest research to best practices for the benefit of individuals and businesses alike.
Through the experience of conscientious employers and via ground breaking research by academics, we are finding that the same conditions creating long-term financial growth in an organization also promote the long-term health of a company’s most valuable assets: its employees. By recognizing that business health and employee health are inextricably linked to population health we create an opportunity for many stakeholders from varied sectors to come together in putting their many valuable insights to work in creating, retaining and renewing a workforce made up of healthy individuals and healthy businesses (click here: view conference conceptual framework).
If you are a business leader, researcher, health care provider, human resources professional, insurer, disability management consultant, labour unionist or occupational health and safety officer there is a place for you here. Please join us in both teaching others and learning how best to connect current research evidence to training and practice and reduce both the human and financial cost of physical and mental disability.
Whether you’re interested in research or practical skill training workshops, the conference will meet your needs through the general plenary and concurrent sessions. We invite you to bring your own case examples of success stories or challenges and to benefit from the diverse audience in attendance.
Please take this opportunity to explore the city of Vancouver, network with a varied group of professionals and advance current research evidence into practice.
We look forward to seeing you next spring in beautiful Vancouver, host city of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
Sincerely,
|
