Topic: From evidence to community practice in work rehabilitation: The Quebec experience.
Full Bio: Dr. Patrick Loisel holds a Doctorate in medicine (MD), University of Paris VI, specialization in orthopedic surgery (FRCSC). He is also professor at the Faculty of medicine of the Université de Sherbrooke and researcher at Charles LeMoyne Hospital. His work is dedicated to research and research transfer in the field of work disability prevention and work rehabilitation for musculoskeletal disorders. He has developed, tested and applied in the community an evidence-based work disability management program, linking clinical and workplace interventions. He is the leader of a multidisciplinary clinical and research team in work rehabilitation funded by the Quebec research grant agency (FRSQ) and the director of the Disability prevention research and training center. As the leader of a Canadian team of university teachers, he was recently awarded a CIHR training program grant in work disability prevention. He is author of many publications and presentations in the work disability prevention field.
