Full Bio: Mieke Koehoorn is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Health Care and Epidemiology at the University of British Columbia and the recipient of a Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Scholar award. She is also the President of the Canadian Association for Research on Work and Health. Mieke’s research includes the investigation of risk factors for occupational injury and disease, with a focus on musculoskeletal injuries, mental disorders and cardiovascular disease, and a focus on health care workers, emergency workers and workers in heavy industry.
