Bill Meechan

 
 

Topic: Case Study: Making OHS Work

Full Bio: Bill Meechan is the Vice President Health, Safety and Environment for the Washington Marine Group. Bill joined the British Royal Navy in 1976 and transferred to the Royal Marines in 1978. He served for 12 years in the Marines before returning to the Royal Navy for a further 9 years. He joined the Washington Marine Group in 1999 and was promoted to VP in February 2003. Bill has a degree in environmental health and safety and a Masters degree in occupational health. He believes strongly in the concept of fitness and conditioning in injury prevention and that there is a strong link between wellness, safety, the workplace, the community and the families of employees.
